Make two marks, and run a piece of masking tape horizontally across the two marks. The tape should be as wide as the vehicle plus an extra 2 feet per side. Park the car so it's exactly 25 feet from the wall to the face of the headlamps—don't estimate. Begin to adjust the low beam using the adjusters on the back of the headlight assembly so
The headlight beam level is adjusted by an electric servo motor inside each of the headlights. According to the position of the adjustment knob of the headlight switch the electric servo motors will adjust the beam to the corresponding level. Just position the car in front of a wall with the lights on.

With the lights set to "left" the beam pattern should be flat on the right side with a diagonal kick-up to the left. This is the correct setting for the UK and Ireland as the kickup lights up road signs etc on the side of the road while the flat part on the right avoids dazzling oncoming traffic.

Put a blanket or an item of clothing over the headlight you aren’t adjusting. Turn the lights off and use a screwdriver to turn the screws until the headlight is at the level you require.
