The new LCD is 40% brighter than Canon's prior 2.5" LCD displays featured in the 1D II N, 5D and 30D and features a wide 160° viewing angle. The LCD is definitely nice, but at the highest brightness settings (brightness level is set using a menu option), gamma is increased enough to make exposure hard to determine. Canon EOS-1D Mark III Introduction. by Dave Etchells, Shawn Barnett Posted: 02/21/2007 Updates: 2/23/07 - AF Details 2/24/07 - Sample Images 2/25/07 - User Report The 30D utilizes Canon's latest 2.5-inch LCD monitor featuring 230,000 pixels, a much wider viewing angle and substantially improved visibility compared to its predecessor. The viewing angle has gone from 40° left/right of perpendicular and from 20° above/60° below to 170° total and evenly in both directions. The D7200 has a smaller size of 136 x 107 x 76mm and a slightly heavier weight of 765g compared to the D750’s 141 x 113 x 78mm and 750g. The D7200 has the advantage of a lower launch price of $1,200, making it more affordable than the D750, which was launched at $2,300. 55.2 oz (1564g) Canon's specifications for the 40D are listed as 5.7 x 4.2 x 2.9" (145.5 x 107.8 x 73.5mm) - practically identical to the 30D, but my dial calipers say it is .2" (5mm) higher. Side by side, it is obvious that the 40D is slightly taller though the difference is not of significance. The 1DX Mark II doesn't give me that impression. With a new sensor, Canon's first with on chip A/D conversion, dual pixel autofocus, and a raft of refinements and incremental improvements over previous models, the 1DX Mark II feels like a true leap forward from the conventional stills 1D cameras of the past. Worth the extra outlay. 3Owb.
